Southside Social and Barn Dance!

You are cordially invited to attend

The Southside Social and Barn Dance aka The Freak Creek Jamboree July 11th-13th, 2008

at Finney Farm 41638 S Skagit Hwy, Concrete WA 360-826-4004 or info@finneyfarm.org Please note: this is a TWO DAY EVENT

Things you should know if this is your first Social
(and should review even if you’re a veteran):

Leave your dogs at home, no violence or lame attitudes, no campfires, and we don’t like cops. Really. We do not like them in the house, we do not like them with the mouse. We do not like them here or there. We do not like them anywhere. Underage drinkers have been the primary reason for cops crashing this shindig in years past.....ergo, we strongly discourage underage drinking at this event.

We encourage folks to arrive early on Friday (first workshop at noon ) and camp through the weekend if possible. Parking is limited so carpooling is a must. In addition to performers and workshops we also have a creek for swimming, kids playground area, sauna, and a lovely wood for camping. This event is mostly kid-friendly (including special circus classes/performance) but as Saturday evening progresses our entertainment gets a bit rowdier-ending with burlesque. We may have childcare available, please contact us for more info and to reserve a spot. We have potlucks on Friday and Saturday evenings. Check www.myspace.com/southsidesocial or this site for lineup and workshop schedule the week before the event.

Please remember This is a free event which means....we rely on donations, t-shirt sales, and our bake sale to offset our costs. Bands rely on CD sales to pay for transportation costs. We’re only able to host 250-400 folks for the weekend with your help—please keep this event free by planning to drop a few bucks in the donation jar, buy a t-shirt and a CD, and maybe a nice vegan cupcake. Thanks-

Directions: From Seattle, take I-5 N to the Sedro Woolley/Cook Rd exit. Right onto Cook Rd, 5 miles into town. Take a right onto Hwy 20, then next left onto Hwy 9. Go about a mile, then take the first right after the bridge onto the South Skagit Hwy. We’re past mile marker 20, the first drive on the right after the Finney Creek Bridge.
